Cambodia Gambling Dens
October 28th, 2015 at 0:21There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight casinos are situated in a generally small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.
The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that features a number of conveniences in addition to the gambling den, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
